Children's Day Foundation

WHILE HAVING FUN AT LINNANMÄKI YOU ARE SUPPORTING CHILD WELFARE WORK

For the past decades the Children’s Day Foundation has been maintaining and developing Linnanmäki amusement park (opened in 1950) in order to raise funds for child welfare work. So far the Children’s Day Foundation has donated over 130 million euros to this important cause. While our visitors are having fun at Linnanmäki amusement park they are also supporting child welfare work.

Linnanmäki’s main partner is Oy Hartwall Ab. As partners of Linnanmäki, these companies are supporting the valuable child welfare work with their own contributions.

The Children’s Day Foundation:

Linnanmäki amusement park was founded in 1950 by six child welfare organisations. In 1957 the six organisations created the Children’s Day Foundation.

  • Barnavårdsföreningen i Finland
is the oldest child welfare organisation in Finland. Its aim is to achieve a better childhood, a stronger parenthood and a more child-friendly society. Among other things, the organisation offers support for children and families who find it challenging to cope with their everyday lives.
  • The Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters
is a national non-governmental organisation which helps children and families who are living in difficult and unsafe conditions. The federation also works to prevent domestic violence.
  • The Central Union for Child Welfare
promotes and develops the cooperation between organisations, municipalities and state authorities. Its most important tasks are to promote the interests of children, have influence in society when political decisions regarding children are made, and to pool expertise in child welfare matters.
  • The Mannerheim League for Child Welfare
is an open national child welfare organisation which welcomes all new members. The main task of the league is to promote the wellbeing of children, young people and young families.
  • Parasta Lapsille
is a national child welfare organisation which aims to help young families cope in their everyday lives by organising camps, weekend activities and clubs for children, young people and young families.
  • Save the Children
is an expert on high-quality child welfare work and a strong influencer in society. The aim of the organisation is to improve child welfare and children’s opportunities for a better adulthood. Its particular focus is on supporting children living in difficult conditions at home and abroad.

The Children's Day Foundation wants to thank every amusement park visitor for supporting the important work for the welfare of children.
